No more party line votes
To the Editor:
I am very tired of the criticism leveled at people who choose not to vote in primary elections.
Granted, a lot are not well informed or couldn’t care less, but there are many who are forced to wait for the general election.
I am in my 70s and always have voted along party lines, but no longer. You are committed when you vote in the primary election. I am so very disgusted with our government and the way it’s run – nationally and locally – and no longer can vote for people I don’t agree with or tend to be absent a lot when an important bill is up for a vote.
I find myself agreeing many times with a member of the other party. I am now calling myself an independent and will be voting the way all our elections should be run – for the person who is, in my opinion, the best person for the job no matter the party.
Also, thanks to the Northwest Herald for informing your readers which way our politicians vote and who can’t be bothered to show up to vote.
