Man charged with vehicle burglary in McHenry

McHENRY – A 20-year-old man has been charged with four counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, police said in a news release.

Nicholas A. Valentino of Woodstock was taken into custody Sunday after police were called to the 4700 block of Oregon Trail for a burglary to a motor vehicle. When police arrived, they found Valentino sitting in a parked vehicle in a driveway, police said.

Valentino matched the description given by the complainant, who later confirmed he saw Valentino unlawfully entering a vehicle, police said.

According to the news release, Valentino had numerous pieces of stolen property on him. After being questioned, Valentino was linked to multiple vehicle burglaries in and around Oregon Trail.

Valentino was charged with four counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, criminal damage to a motor vehicle, three counts of theft, criminal trespass to a motor vehicle, possession drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Valentino is being held on $80,000 bond at the McHenry County Jail.
