Our homes are the single most important investment in our lives. Bob Schell of Robert’s Exterior Services in Wonder Lake shares some very important reminders when choosing a roofing contractor:
Choosing a contractor for repairs and maintenance can be a daunting challenge.
At the top of that list, and the top of your house, is your roof. The importance of choosing the right contractor for your roofing system will be one of the most important decisions you can make. Your roof design and its specific needs and weaknesses are what you want your roofing professional to address. You want to choose a contractor who is well-established in your community, is licensed in the state of Illinois and has the proper insurance coverage.
A common problem a homeowner can experience is using a contractor whose crews are not trained in a specific roofing procedure.
It is up to you, the homeowner, to ask for proper credentials and documentation. Most roofing professionals will have certifications from the roofing material manufacturer that says the specific contractor is qualified to install your roof. This is very important if there is a claim or a warranty concern in the future. Choose a roofing contractor who is referred to you, well-established in your community and a member of your chamber of commerce.
