LAKE IN THE HILLS – The Public Works Department is scheduled to conduct its system-wide water main flushing program beginning on Monday.

During the week of April 21, phase one of the flushing program will address areas west of Randall Road, according to a news release. Areas east of Randall Road will be flushed during the week of April 28.

All flushing is scheduled to be completed by May 2. The village does not expect to conduct any flushing on weekends or after 6 p.m. on weekdays, the news release said.

The flushing program is designed to improve water quality throughout the village. Notification signs will be placed at the main entrances to each subdivision at least 12 hours prior to flushing and be removed when work is completed, according to the news release.

The village recommended that residents not do laundry when flushing occurs in their subdivision.
