Three arrested following marijuana seizure

UNION – Two Union residents and a Barrington man were arrested following the seizure of six pounds of marijuana.

Larry A. Thompson, 52, of Barrington, was charged with marijuana trafficking, a Class 1 felony; delivery of marijuana, a Class 2 felony; and possession of marijuana, a Class 3 felony. His bond was set at $75,000.

Linda J. Rednez, 43, and Stephan Rednez, 45, both of Union, were charged with possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor. Their bonds were set at $1,000.

The arrests were the result of an investigation into suspicious packages delivered to a home in the 6300 block of Main Street, Union, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

When the house was searched, detectives seized about four pounds of high-grade marijuana, packaging material and a scale. The search of a house in the 400 block of East Lake Shore Drive, Barrington, led to the seizure of an additional two pounds of marijuana.

The street value of the marijuana seized is estimated at $27,000.
