An area French horn ensemble, the Cor Corps, has scheduled a concert to encourage others to learn about the group.

The free concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at McHenry County College, Building B, in the conference center.

Pieces at the concert are set to include arrangements of "Appalachian Suite," "Red Castle," the "Jurassic Park" theme, and the theme of "The Simpsons," according to a news release.

A reception with free refreshments will follow the concert. People will have an opportunity to speak to performers, many of whom are area music educators, the news release said.

The Cor Corps has amateur and profession French horn players from McHenry, Lake and Kane Counties. People are welcome to join, and the group practices 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays at MCC.
