Hope for Illinois

To the Editor:

As much as I am against the general Democratic philosophy of state Rep. Jack Franks, D-Marengo, I must give credit where credit is due and applaud Rep. Franks on his bold opposition to the “millionaire tax” and two other propositions.

Rep. Franks has shown he is a man of convictions, be they good or bad, and that is a plus for the citizens of McHenry County and the state of Illinois. If more of the Democratic Party would follow their convictions instead of going along with the party line, the state of Illinois would not be in the horrible mess it is in.

Maybe there is hope for Illinois if this trend could continue.
