The Woodstock girls soccer team scored a golden goal just over three minutes into overtime to beat Crystal Lake Central, 1-0, at Crystal Lake in Fox Valley Conference Fox Division play.
Anna Lopatin scored the game winner on a shot from 30 yards out. Allie Behrens assisted on the play. It was the Blue Streaks' (9-3 overall, 2-0 FVC Fox) second straight match with a golden goal winner.
"Central is a tough team and very physical; it was great to get the win," Woodstock coach Mike Golda said. "The girls played hard and never gave up, I'm really proud of them."
Marissa Krueger made nine saves for the shutout.
Richmond-Burton 5, Zion-Benton 0: At the Lakes Invitational in Lake Villa, Halley Havlicek scored two goals and had an assist as the Rockets (9-4) won. Meghan Vasseur, Anna Blaney and Jessica Guenther all added goals for R-B. Hannah Koenig made three saves.
Elgin 2, Marengo 0: At Marengo, the Indians (6-4) gave up two first-half goals in the nonconference loss. Makayla Pfeiffer made three saves for Marengo.
CL South 4, Dundee-Crown 0: At Crystal Lake, Alex Siavelis scored a first-half goal and had an assist for the Gators (7-2-1, 2-0) in the FVC Valley Division win. Bree Marshall, Jessica Schoenfeldt and Alex Romano scored second-half goals for Crystal Lake South. Isabella Miranda made seven save for D-C (2-4-3, 0-1).
Johnsburg 1, Grayslake Central 0: At Johnsburg, Maddie Hauck scored the only goal in the first half on an assist from Delaney Pruitt. Amy Majercik made five saves in the FVC Fox win for the Skyhawks (5-8, 2-1).
St. Francis 1, Marian Central 0: At Woodstock, Kersten Green made five saves in the conference loss for the Hurricanes (2-6, 1-3 SCC Blue).
Waukegan 1, Woodstock North 0: At Lake Villa, the Thunder lost the game as part of the Lakes Invite. Shanen Laabs made 21 saves for the Thunder (0-11).
Huntley 9, CL South 3: At Huntley, Brittany Koss had three hits and drove in a run for the Red Raiders (8-7, 3-2) in the FVC Valley win over Crystal Lake South. Sam McLean was 2 for 4 for the Gators (6-7, 1-4) and Caitlin Fater hit an RBI double.
Cary-Grove 12, Dundee-Crown 2: At Cary, the Trojans scored seven runs in the second inning on their way to an FVC Valley win. Grace Pilz had three hits and two runs batted in, and Sarah Kendeigh had a home run and four RBIs for C-G (9-5, 4-1). Megan Emerson had a home run in the loss for the Chargers (0-7, 0-5).
McHenry 11, Jacobs 3: At McHenry, Carly Mattson had a home run and drove in four runs for McHenry in the FVC Valley win. Katelyn Sena and Dana Walsh had three hits apiece for the Warriors (8-5, 4-1). Taylor Belo had a double and an RBI for Jacobs (11-7, 2-4).
Woodstock 5, Woodstock North 1: At Woodstock, Samantha Baker had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for the Blue Streaks (2-9, 1-4) in the FVC Fox game. Rachael Lohmeyer got the win for Woodstock, striking out eight over seven innings. Sierra Meiners had a hit and drove in a run for the Thunder (1-9, 0-4).
Hampshire 4, Grayslake Central 2: At Hampshire, Haley Widmayer got the win, striking out ten batters and allowed no earned runs over seven innings. Widmayer also added two hits at the plate for the Whip-Purs (12-7, 4-0) in the FVC Fox game. Elie Lapi added a double and an RBI for Hampshire.
CL Central 10, Johnsburg 0 (5 inn.): At Crystal Lake, the Tigers scored five runs in the fifth inning end the FVC Fox game by the 10-run rule. Megan Mahaffy got the win for the Tigers (8-4, 4-1), striking out nine and allowing three hits. Savannah Frank, Shannon Ellman and Kelly Iwamoto added three hits each for Crystal Lake Central.
Marengo 15, North Boone 2 (5 inn.): At Poplar Grove, the Indians won the BNC East game in five innings. Abby Kissack got the win, striking out eight and walking none. Veronica Ruelius hit two home runs, and Gabbi Markison hit one for Marengo (11-6, 5-0 BNC East).
Richmond-Burton 15, Harvard 5 (5 inn.): At Richmond, the Rockets (9-4, 5-2) scored five first-inning runs and never looked back, beating Harvard in five innings in the BNC East game. Stephanie Pedley had a home run, a triple and three RBIs in for R-B. Erica Stalo had two hits for Harvard (6-7, 2-3).
Marian Central 9, Rosary 7: At Aurora, the Hurricanes (9-7, 5-2) scored nine runs in the first two innings then held on to win in SCC play. Emily Miller and Sarah Schaefer each had two RBIs, and Mic Faunce was 3 for 4 with an RBI.
Lake Forest 16, McHenry 2: At McHenry, the Warriors lost to Lake Forest to fall to 4-14 on the season.
