MARENGO – Two men face multiple charges of theft and residential burglary after police found them Thursday selling items from burglaries in the Marengo area at a cash-for-gold store in Belvidere.

Taylor J. Anguiano, 22, of Belvidere, and Elijah T. Greer, 22, of Rockford, were both charged Friday with two counts of theft and residential burglary, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's news release.

Sheriff deputies responded Thursday afternoon to a report of a residential burglary in the Marengo area and tracked the suspects to a cash-for-gold store in Belvidere, where they were selling items from the burglaries, the release states.

Belvidere police and Boone County Sheriff officers then located Anguiano near the store inside the vehicle reported in the burglary and quickly detained Greer after pursuing him on foot.

Investigators from the McHenry County Sheriff's office linked the stolen items found inside Anguiano's vehicle to the burglaries in the Marengo area, the release states.

Both men are being held on $150,000 bond at the McHenry County Jail. They are due in court Tuesday.
