Bicyclist killed by freight train

ELGIN – Police in Elgin were investigating the death of a man who was struck by a freight train after he fell off his bicycle. Local news media reported that officials said the man was riding across the railroad tracks shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he fell off his bicycle and was hit by the train. Police have not identified the man pending the notification of next of kin.
