District 158 selects new academic chief
HUNTLEY – An administrator from Kaneland District 302 will replace District 158 chief academic officer Mike Moan, when Moan leaves later this summer to head Woodstock District 200.
Erika Schlichter spent the last four years as District 302's education services director for middle and high school after being curriculum coordinator during her first two years at the district. Officials from the Kaneland district announced the departure this week.
“It has been a privilege to work in the Kaneland schools for the past six years with an excellent group of students and staff, and a supportive community,” Schlichter wrote in an email. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve in District 158, a large and expanding district, with a focus on innovation and improvement.”
Schlichter's last day at Kaneland is June 30. She replaces Moan, who returns to his Woodstock roots to replace retiring District 200 Superintendent Ellyn Wrzeski on July 1.
A graduate of Woodstock High School, Moan spent 17 years at Huntley District 158, going from high school dean to the district's top academic administrator.
Officials at Kaneland said Schlichter's leadership will be missed.
“We are confident her experiences in Kaneland clearly made her an attractive candidate to lead a teaching and learning team," Kaneland Superintendent Jeff Schuler said in a statement.
