McHENRY – A woman on Monday received a package with a white powdery substance in it  through the mail, the McHenry Township Fire Protection District said in a news release.

When firefighters arrived to 2216 N. Ringwood Road in unincorporated McHenry County near McHenry, they found a 1-foot cubic box inside of a clear plastic bag, that was inside of a reusable shopping bag.

According to the news release, the woman called 911 after she discovered the substance that was encased in plastic bags. The bags had not been opened.
