To the Editor:
Dear state representatives, under no circumstance should any of you vote to approve making permanent the 67 percent “temporary” state income tax increase. It was promised to be a temporary tax increase.
Legislators in Springfield have driven this state into ruin through poor leadership and mismanagement of state funds. Enough is enough!
Citizens of Illinois are being driven out of the state because of high taxation. Our real estate taxes are some of the highest in the country. My local property tax rate has risen to 10.9669654%. (Multipliers have increased our taxes in McHenry County while Cook County real estate taxes are much lower due to them legislating against higher taxes.)
Repeal the PETELL law now. Businesses are being driven out of state because of high taxation. You all need to become part of the solution – stop being part of the problem. Stop the craziness in Springfield. Stop Gov. Pat Quinn and his crew from the continuation of ruining this state, or is it just too late?
