Stateline SHRM session to focus on big data

Published: Wednesday, May 14, 2014 5:22 p.m. CDT

McHENRY – Stateline SHRM will host a breakfast program June 12 titled “Big Data, Recruiting and Predictive Analytics,” presented by George Blomgren, director of recruiting services at MRA, one of the largest employers associations in the Midwest.

Companies such as Google measure everything and use sophisticated analytics to refine their recruiting and hiring processes. But there’s a lot of hype as well. The session will explore big data and other topics such as what these trends mean for smaller employers and employers without large data repositories, according to a news release.

The program is pending approval for 1.25 recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.

The meeting will be from 7:45 to 9:45 a.m. June 12 at the McHenry County College Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane, McHenry. The cost is $15 for members and $30 for nonmembers and is payable by cash or check at the door. Credit-card payments can be made online by June 9.
