RINGWOOD – Costumed reenactors will bring the 1850s to life at the historic Powers-Walker House.

Seasonal activities and tasks will be on display as part of the open house noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the Powers-Walker House in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood.

The event is designed to showcase local history and will feature Samuel Walker, a prominent and influential man who owned the house after the Civil War.

A special presentation of “Just Who is Samuel Walker?” is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will look at Walker's relationship to the farmstead.

The open house is free, and registration is not required for this drop-in event.
