HUNTLEY – An accident on Interstate 90 west of Route 47 snarled traffic and sent three people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon, an official said.
The Huntley Fire Protection District was dispatched at about 2 p.m. for the single-car accident. The driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Ltnt. Brian Harders said.
The vehicle involved struck the median while traveling eastbound and suffered moderate damage, he said.
Because of the I-90 construction barrier separating the two sides of the highway, Huntley crews had to enter I-90 from Route 20 and then make it through about three miles of traffic, Harders said. They arrived on scene at about 2:30 p.m.
The accident shut down I-90 until about 4:15 p.m., Harders said.
