CHICAGO (AP) — A former owner of an airline fuel company has been sentenced to four years in prison for his part in a kickback scheme to defraud Illinois-based Ryan International Airlines.

A U.S. Department of Justice statement on Thursday said Sean E. Wagner was sentenced in federal court in West Palm Beach, Florida. He also must pay more than $200,000 in restitution.

Wagner is the one-time owner and operator of Florida-based Aviation Fuel International Inc. He pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud.

Court documents say Wagner and others made kickback payments to a former Ryan vice president to steer business to AFI.
