Bartlett woman to receive $410K settlement in Fox Lake boating crash

FOX LAKE – A Bartlett woman will receive $410,000 in damages after being seriously injured in a Fox Lake boating crash.

Dena Renzulli, 36, of Bartlett, was thrown overboard after another boat struck her pontoon boat in May 2012, according to a release from Renzulli's attorney. Renzulli had been out on the water with her husband, four-year-old twin sons and two friends.

The driver of the other boat, Brian Yost of Crystal Lake, had been drinking at a local restaurant prior to the accident, the release said. Yost was found not guilty of operating a watercraft under the influence by a Lake County jury in December 2013, according to court records.

Renzulli received serious injuries to her ribs, pelvis and face as well as a broken leg, the release said. She underwent treatment and rehabilitation for over a year.

The settlement was approved by Judge Margaret Mullen in Lake County Circuit Court.
