McHenry crash causes detours, backups

McHENRY – A traffic crash near the 1000 block of Curran Road in McHenry will cause traffic backups and detours for several hours, according to the McHenry Police Department.

According to police scanner conversation, a car struck a tree in that area and caught fire also causing the driver to lose consciousness. McHenry Police are advising drivers to avoid southbound Curran Road from Elm Street and northbound Curran Road from Draper Road as they continue to work in the area.

Suggested alternative routes include Ridge Road and Crystal Lake Road.
