McHENRY – A water main break has forced the McHenry Public Library to be closed to the public Monday.

The break in the area of the library caused flooding in the youth services area. The water was cleared, but no water service is operating in the building, according to a news release from the library.

Summer program registration, which was scheduled to begin Monday, can be completed starting at 9 a.m. at the library’s website, www.mchenrylibrary.org.

The drive-up book drop will also be open during the day, although due dates will be pushed back a day because of the closure, the release said.

For updates, call 815-385-0036 or visit the library’s website.
