McHenry library to open as early as May 30

McHENRY – Repairs to the McHenry Public Library have closed the drive-up book return box.

A water main break has closed the library since Monday, and library officials hope to have it reopened May 30.

Check-in dates for materials have been backdated to May 17, and no fines will be incurred from that date to the day the library reopens.

Renewals can be made at the library's website, www.mchenrylibrary.org, or by calling 847-590-8706.

Library staff will be manning the phones 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer any questions.

Library-goers can also use other libraries in the area by registering their McHenry Library card with the library's front desk. They'll also need an ID with an address.
