HUNTLEY – Three semitrailers were involved in a crash Thursday morning that closed westbound lanes near Route 47 on Interstate 90 just west of Huntley for an hour and a half.

Paul Carlos, master sergeant with District 15 of the Illinois State Police, said at roughly 6:30 a.m. a semitrailer traveling east on I-90 when it struck a concrete median in a construction zone and crossed over into westbound traffic, causing the crash.

Only one of three drivers involved needed medical attention as he was transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin with minor injuries, Carlos said. No hazardous material was being transported in any of the commercial vehicle, he said.

Eastbound lanes remained open while crews worked on the scene. Carlos said an investigation is ongoing. The Elgin Fire Department assisted state police.
