"Cop on Rooftop" will this year hit 170 of the donut shop's Illinois locations in an effort to raise money for and awareness about the Law Enforcement Torch Run, Special Olympics Illinois' largest yearly fundraiser.

The event runs from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

Area Dunkin' Donuts participating in the event are located at: 2270 Randall Road, Carpentersville; 630 Northwest Hwy, Cary; 4817 Northwest Hwy, Crystal Lake; 892 S. Main St., East Dundee; 5 E. Grand Ave., Fox Lake; 171 E. Higgins Road, Gilberts; 12090 Princeton Drive, Huntley; 510 Auburn Drive, Island Lake; 280 N. Randall Road, Lake in the Hills; 3523 Diamond Drive, McHenry; 4502 Elm St., McHenry; and 335 S. Eastwood Drive, Woodstock.

Those who donate will receive a free donut. Those who give at least $10 will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug and a coupon for a free medium coffee.

Special Olympics Illinois T-shirts and hats also will be available for purchase.
