HARVARD – A 27-year-old Harvard man was arrested Wednesday evening for a string of graffiti incidents in the southwest portion of town.

Gilberto Pereda, 402 E. Thompson St., is charged with criminal defacement of property.

Harvard Crime Stoppers earlier this week had offered up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. News of the reward was published online by the Northwest Herald on Wednesday morning.

Spray-painted graffiti of various colors has popped up on vehicles, buildings and other structures in recent weeks, according to a news release from the Harvard Police Department.

Pereda posted $150 bond and was released. He is due in court on June 18.
