General Kinematics to host ‘I Make America’ tour

CRYSTAL LAKE – Vibratory equipment maker General Kinematics will host a stop on the nationwide “I Make America” Harley-Davidson tour Friday.

The tour, on behalf of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, features a Harley-Davidson in a uniquely designed truck with glass sides. It will stop at General Kinematics corporate headquarters, 5050 Rickert Road, Crystal Lake, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The purpose of the tour is to raise awareness about “I Make America” and its mission, as well as engage AEM Member Companies and their employees to help make a difference, according to a news release. Everyone who signs up through Oct. 3 has a chance to win the 2014 Harley-Davidson Road King, featuring a custom “I Make America” paint job.

Attendance at the event isn’t necessary to enter. To enter, visit www.imakeamerica.com.

“At the core of the ‘I Make America’ campaign is the understanding that manufacturing is the key to our nation’s prosperity,” said Nikki Sullivan, director of Continual Improvement for General Kinematics. “General Kinematics employees are immensely proud of the quality work that we do in Crystal Lake, and we are pleased to have this opportunity to host AEM to increase awareness of their mission.”
