McHenry Flag Day event

Published: Tuesday, June 10, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

Flag Day ceremonies will be held June 14 at VFW Post 4600 in McHenry.

This ceremony will be the retiring of our country’s worn, torn and tattered flags that have been brought to the post by citizens for proper retirement.

Assisting our post members will be local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops.

The event will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Please feel free to bring any flags you might have lying around your home on this day. I look forward to seeing you there. The post is located at 3002 Route 120, and the phone number is 815-385-4600 if you have any questions.

Ronnie L. Reber

Commander, VFW Post 4600
