State of ruin

To the Editor:

I totally agree with Rep. Jack Franks’ initiatives on the two advisory referendums. Please, Rep. Franks, put together an email list of people we can circulate an online “we agree with you” petition, too.

I am 69 years old and cannot support the current PTELL law, Gov. Pat Quinn, Senate President John Cullerton, House Speaker Mike Madigan, the extension of the state income tax increase and the ridiculously high real estate taxes. A large percentage of these taxes go to school districts to pay outrageously high salaries to teachers who work about 180 days a year. McHenry County College President Vicky Smith is going to be paid $211,000 a year, plus perks.

Come on, people. We are being taxed out of our homes and out of the state of ruin known as Illinois. The golden years of seniors is being destroyed by career politicians at all levels. Let’s join together to reverse this situation now.
