Published: Sunday, July 13, 2014 5:30 a.m. CST

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 1700 N. Richmond Road, McHenry, recently reopened after being remodeled. The group celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The interior remodeling project included removing pop-culture artifacts, and adding local photos, murals and wall images that depict school sports teams. As part of the remodel process, Applebee’s auctioned off the older décor and memorabilia to raise $1,480. The money was donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
