UNIVERSITY PARK – The Will County coroner has identified a Chicago boy found electrocuted to death on top of a Metra train in University Park.

The coroner said Monday afternoon that autopsy results found 13-year-old Marcellus Martin died from electrocution. The boy was pronounced dead Sunday evening after he was found on top of the unoccupied train in University Park. The coroner’s office says the cause and manner of the boy’s death are pending toxicology results.

Metra officials have said the boy was with a group of other juveniles who went into a rail yard. Metra officials say the train cars are marked “Danger High Voltage.”

Metra police are investigating.
