Hazardous weather outlook issued for McHenry County

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of Illinois, including McHenry County.

A tornado watch was issued in the area earlier this morning, however, the threat has since moved north of the Wisconsin border, according to NWS spokesman Pat Slattery.

Affected counties include McHenry, Lake, Kane, De Kalb, Du Page, Cook, La Salle, among others.

The weather hazards expected include thunderstorms which could produce damaging wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, heavy rain, and isolated tornadoes.

The issuance will be in effect until appoximately 9 a.m.
