D-158 Education Foundation awards $10,000 in scholarships

HUNTLEY – The District 158 Education Foundation recently awarded $10,000 total in college scholarships to 10 graduating Huntley High School seniors.

Selected from a record 62 applicants this year, each student will receive $1,000 to help with tuition, student fees, books or room and board costs. The students who won the foundation's annual scholarships had to submit essays and complete an interview with foundation members.

Selections were based on academic merit, financial need, leadership roles, community involvement and commitment to higher education.

The 10 students who won scholarships included: James Cannalte, Michelle Caputi, Jessica Chalas, Zoe Dowell, Abigale Enrici, Katie Gallegos, Victoria Kazmierczak, Sarah Palecki, Pooja Patel, and Kevin Runge.
