CRYSTAL LAKE – A car, operated by a 15-year-old driver with a learner's permit, crashed through the window of the Verizon Wireless store off Route 31.

The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. Thursday at 1125 S. Route 31, just south of Rakow Road, according to the Crystal Lake Police Department. Firefighters were called about 9 p.m.

Police also said there was an adult, presumably the driver's father, in the car, which tore through the storefront after the teenager reportedly pushed the wrong pedal.

The department added it does not appear major injuries were sustained.
