Religion common sense

To the Editor:

As I recommended once before, please, please, please set aside a religion page for Bible thumpers instead of taking up valuable Letters to the Editor space that should be reserved for readers with something such as reality to deal with.

It’s simple folks. Read some history. Your black book of “good news” was written by scores and scores of unnamed folks 200 to 300 hundred years after your Lord even lived. And scores and scores of submissions didn’t make the final cut. Some editor or editors, also unnamed, chose from those submissions whatever he or they (you know that no mere woman would have been allowed publication) decided you should read.

There are many books on the history of the writing of your Bible. Vet your authors. Show some guts. Take a chance. Read what they have to say. Or ask your pastors. They should know their history. Ask them to be honest with you.

Or, here’s a thought, show some common sense. Would a Christian really hate people who are not like themselves? Really?

The hypocrisy you people spout is damnable.
