Algonquin man dies in LaSalle County crash

An Algonquin man died Saturday after a motorcycle crash, according to the Marseilles Police Department.

Douglas Z. Peters, 43, was driving west on U.S. Route 6 when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guard rail, a police department news release said.

Peters was airlifted to OSF St. Elizabeth in Ottawa where he was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m.

The crash is under investigation by the Marseilles Police Department and the LaSalle County Coroner's Office.
