BULL VALLEY – Bull Valley police will offer free passenger safety checks Friday as a part of the department's Bull Valley Police Safety Awareness Days series.

The safety awareness days will occur from 10 a.m. to noon on the last Friday of every month, from June through September. They take place at the Bull Valley Dog Park, 11114 Country Club Road.

The Bull Valley Police Department is working with McHenry County Safe Kids and other local and state agencies to bring safety checks to the community Friday, according to a news release from the department.

Families can have their child restraints checked by a certified technician for proper usage, proper fit, and to identify any recalls.

Safe Kids Worldwide has said injuries on the road are the leading cause of preventable deaths and injuries among children. Four out of five car seats aren't correctly installed, the release said.

A representative of Bull Valley also will be on hand to talk to those who are interested about the Bull Valley Dog Park.
