Woodstock Movies in the Park starts Friday with "Frozen"

WOODSTOCK – Woodstock's summer movie series kicks off Friday night with a showing of "Frozen."

Movies in the Park kicks off around 8:30 p.m., as darkness permits, at Woodstock Water Works, in the northwest corner of Emricson Park at 1313 Kishwaukee Valley Road. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

The second movie in the series is scheduled for Sunday, July 20, during the city's new Summer in the Park festival. "The Avengers" will start at 8:30 p.m. under the big tent at Emricson Park.

Organizers will hold a super hero and super heroine costume contest at 8 p.m. in the tent. For more information about Summer in the Park, visit woodstockfestivals.org or call 815-338-4301.

The Movies in the Park series will wrap-up with "Despicable Me 2" at 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 8, at Woodstock Water Works.

All movies in the series are free of charge.
