Community aids sale

To the Editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who assisted in making our annual rummage sale at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McHenry a complete success.

Local businesses such as Ace Hardware, R.A. Adams Enterprises, Ed’s Rental and Justen Funeral Home were instrumental with their help.

The Catholic Order of Foresters Court 594, the Knights of Columbus Council 1288 and members of Boy Scout Troop 149 helped ready our school for the sale.

Montini Catholic School’s 2015 eighth-grade class, other students and alumni helped carry items to all three floors and classrooms of our building.

Parishioners, their children and grandchildren arrived daily to sort and arrange items for display.

Thanks to the people of our great community and beyond who donated clean, usable items, and again for coming back to select the treasures they purchased.

We thank parishioners and Jacci and her crew, which packed and removed all leftover merchandise and then distributed everything to other charities in our area.

We are amazed that so many came to our assistance to make this sale a success for our church, school and people of our community.
