Car and bike show to raise money for Mooseheart
Event set for July 12
MOOSEHEART – The organizers of the second annual Mooseheart Car and Bike Show hope to raise more money this year to benefit Mooseheart, a residential home and school for children and teens in need.
“We raised $3,500 last year for Mooseheart,” said Jodie Rogers, a member of the Fox Valley Corvette Club, which puts on the show. “We want to beat that amount this year.”
The show will begin at 8 a.m. July 12 at the Mooseheart campus at Mooseheart Road and Route 31. The rain date is July 13.
Registration will be from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $20 a show vehicle. Voting will be from 1 to 2 p.m., and awards will be given at 3 p.m. Awards will be presented in a number of categories, including best in show and Mooseheart choice.
As part of this year’s event, there will be a raffle, with prizes including restaurant certificates and trips. Rogers said the group is looking for more businesses to donate prizes, such as local restaurants.
“We are in desperate need of local restaurants,” she said. “We will be accepting donations all the way up to Wednesday.”
Those who would like to donate can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last year, more than 120 cars were on display in the show, Rogers said. This year’s show will include classic and custom vehicles, street rods, trucks and motorcycles.
