CRYSTAL LAKE – Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening following a head-on collision on North Main Street, a Crystal Lake fire official said.

Emergency responders were dispatched about 3 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of North Main Street and East Crystal Lake Avenue in Crystal Lake, Battalion Chief William Whyte said.

A vehicle had crossed over the median and hit another vehicle head-on, injuring both the driver and the passenger, he said. The driver of the other car was not injured.

The two people were taken to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock with injuries that were not life-threatening, Whyte said. Northbound traffic on North Main Street was closed for about a half hour, he said.
