LAKE IN THE HILLS – Southbound traffic on Pyott Road was closed and traffic on Algonquin Road was reduced to one lane in each direction after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection, police said.

About 8:55 p.m. a female juvenile from Algonquin was driving east on Algonquin Road in a 2014 Chevy Hatchback when she attempted to turn left onto Pyott Road.

She was struck by Bianca Mazari, 18, of Carpentersville, who was going west on Algonquin Road in a 2001 Daewoo, said Sgt. Ted Ziarkowski.

The Hatchback rolled over to its side in the crash, Ziarkowski said.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the accident, Ziarkowski said.

The accident is under investigation and charges are pending, Ziarkowski said.

Traffic on Algonquin Road was restricted to one lane in each direction, and southbound traffic on Pyott was closed for almost an hour.

Ziarkowski said all injuries were minor, and those involved were treated at the scene and released.

The juvenile's name was not released.
