Huntley man charged with battery to an officer

A Huntley man is accused of aggravated battery to an officer, according to the Chicago Police Department.

About 11:25 p.m. Friday, the 42-year-old Gerald Chverchko struck an officer, Chicago Police said in an email.

The incident occurred on the 1300 block of S. Lynn White Drive, which is to the north of the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island.

Chverchko was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, which is a felony, and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.

The incident took place after the Dave Matthews Band concert had ended.
