Buck stops with Obama

Published: Sunday, July 13, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

This is in response to the letter, “No Shame,” (It’s Your Write, July 6.)

Let’s start with the last sentence asking someone to tell Sen. John McCain that he lost in 2008. I believe President Barack Obama did that at a televised meeting he had with senators in his first term, effectively shutting up and embarrassing McCain. Way to go, Mr. President, that’s a great start to bipartisan cooperation.

Now let’s jump to the first paragraph in which the writer accuses the GOP of opposing our president on every issue. Well, duh! Isn’t a two-party system supposed to work just that way if the president and his party insist on their way or no way (i.e. Obama Care, etc.)? What is expected?

As to the middle paragraph: Benghazi? IRS scandal? V.A. scandal? He dictatorially and unconstitutionally changes bills with his famous pen. Who else can we blame? Doesn’t the buck stop at the president’s desk?

One last comment: If the Senate (controlled by Democrats) refuses to consider and vote on any bills proposed by the House (controlled by GOP), do they then get to accuse the GOP of doing nothing? Appears so!
