RICHMOND — A 23-year-old motorist was transported via Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center after her car crashed into a tree in unincorporated Richmond early Wednesday morning, according to the Richmond Township Fire Protection District.

Emergency responders arrived at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday to find a vehicle that had crashed into a tree on Keystone Road just south of Tyron Grove Road, Chief Rick Gallas said.

After about 40 minutes, the driver was extricated from the vehicle, and then flown to the Libertyville hospital. The injuries were considered non-life threatening, but serious enough to warrant Flight for Life transportation, he added.

Gallas said the vehicle sustained heavy damage.

Information regarding the driver's current condition was not immediately available.
