Catfish derby planned in Wonder Lake

WONDER LAKE – A catfish derby is coming up in Wonder Lake.

The Wonder Lake Sportsman's Club is hosting a catch-and-release catfish derby Saturday, Aug. 9, and Sunday, Aug. 10.

Registration will take place 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Shore Hills Beach, which is located two-thirds of a mile south of Center Beach on East Lake Shore Drive.

Prizes will be awarded at 7 a.m. Sunday. Participants must be present to win.

The cost is $10 a person. The big fish pot costs $5 a person. There are single through four-person teams, and at least one member of the team must be a resident of Wonder Lake.

All proceeds go toward lake conservation.
