Cary Park District planning luau day

CARY – The Cary Park District has scheduled a luau themed beach party.

Plans for the event include swimming, shaved ice, raffles, hula hoop contests and a limbo contest. The Peaches Beach Party is scheduled to perform songs of Jimmy Buffet, Van Morrison, the Beach Boys, among others, according to a news release.

The luau party is scheduled for 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday, at the Community Center at 255 Briargate Road. Admission costs for the luau will be $1 for residents 3- to 17-years-old, $3 for adult residents, and $6 for non-residents.

The first 50 guests will receive a free luau day t-shirt, the news release said.
