Prairie Ridge's baseball team has another shot at a state title.
Ben Cilano hit a walk-off three-run homer to complete a seventh-inning rally Thursday in the Libertyville Regional final and help the Wolves beat Gurnee Warren, 7-5, and advance to the final eight at the Phil Lawler Summer Classic.
The Wolves, who finished fourth in the IHSA Class 4A state tournament in the spring, trailed, 5-2, heading into the bottom of the seventh inning after surrendering four runs in the top of the inning.
"It was unbelievable, I've never seen anything like that," Prairie Ridge coach Glen Pecoraro said. "The fight in our guys is incredible. We talked about just getting on base and stringing together some hits, then Ben hit a no-doubter to right-center field to win it. Unbelievable."
Tommy Keaty got the win for the Wolves, despite giving up three runs in the top of the seventh. Chris Slack was 1 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, and Cilano had four RBIs.
Prairie Ridge will play the Lockport Regional winner, Joliet Catholic, at 4 p.m. Monday at Benedictine University in Lisle.
