Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn gives a thumbs up Friday during a dedication ceremony to name a stretch of road in Chicago after late former South African President Nelson Mandela. Mandela, who would have been 96 on Friday, died in December 2013. The Illinois General Assembly officially designated the roadway to honor Mandela. The Illinois Department of Transportation will put up signs at a series of intersections.
