It is great that the Crystal Lake Public Library and the city of Crystal Lake have just celebrated 100 years of service to our community. Library science has always been an important part of Crystal Lake. The public library is a perfect example of a community using funds wisely to share resources.
In just two or three visits to the Crystal Lake Public Library, any resident receives a bargain for the tax money they have spent. In these tough economic times, we should all look for the best value for our dollar.
We would all like to see that service keep up with the demands of the residents of Crystal Lake. The increasing use of our library and the age of the building are increasing the costs of our library services. It is time for us all to consider what is the best value for the Crystal Lake community in the future.
