LAKE IN THE HILLS – The village has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association, according to a news release.

The GFOA recognized the village for the 15th consecutive year. The latest recognition is for the 2014 fiscal year, which began on Jan. 1 for the village.

To receive the award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that serves as a policy document, an operations guide, a financial plan and a communications device, the news release said.
