LINCOLNSHIRE – A 21-year-old Huntley man has been charged with attempting to kidnap a teenage girl.

Daniel W. Bockenhauer, 21, of 11606 Lori Lane, is charged with aggravated attempted kidnapping while hooded, a Class 1 felony, and aggravated battery while hooded, a Class 3 felony, according to a news release from the Lincolnshire Police Department.

The attack allegedly occurred about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the Huntley man followed the 17-year-old girl to her home near Wiltshire Drive in Lincolnshire. As she was walking into the garage, Bockenhauer attacked her, grabbing and punching her before the girl got away, said investigator John-Erik Anderson of the Lincolnshire Police Department.

Bockenhauer was wearing a hood to conceal his identity during the attack, police said.

Bockenhauer is pending trial for three previous incidents, which are alleged to have occurred during a two-week stretch in September 2012.

Bockenhauer allegedly either broke into a home or attempted to break into a home in all three incidents. During an incident Sept. 19, he was found outside a residence, hiding in the bushes holding a hammer, police said.

For his kidnapping charge, Bockenhauer was transported to the Lake County Jail, where he awaits a bond hearing.
